Seminar Details:

Plus ONE is a play on words referencing the times when you’re invited to an event, and have the option to RSVP for yourself and a “plus one.” Well, as a single person you don’t always have a significant other who can be with you. Through this seminar, we want singles to know we have an everlasting “Plus ONE” through our connection to Christ because He is Omniscient, He is Near to us, and He is our Everything!  With God as our Plus ONE, singles can walk confidently with a strong faith. This seminar is an opportunity for singles to obtain tangible strategies to help us improve our relationships and significantly impact the body of Christ.

Attendees can also purchase a copy of the recently-released book "Single Christian: Endangered Species" by Stonecrest elder and author Anthony Brooks.  Click the book to read a sample.

ABOUT THE Seminar facilitator:

carlus d. page

Bro. Carlus D. Page is the pastoring evangelist/visionary for the New Heights Church of Christ in Biloxi, Mississippi, and has labored with the New Heights congregation since August of 2014.   Carlus preached his first sermon at 12 years old and has been preaching the Gospel for
approximately 27 years.

Carlus has served several congregations along south Mississippi, and in New Orleans, and he formerly worked as Youth Minister and Associate Minister in Florida while stationed in the military. He matriculated at the University of Southern Mississippi studying Public Relations, Broadcast Journalism, and Speech Communications.

In 2016, Carlus saw a desperate need to urge young adult Christians to establish a better relationship with God. He was blessed and entrusted with a God-given vision to establish and preside over the national Millennial's Reach Conference for young adults. A mere four years later in 2020, as our world was challenged by the spread of COVID-19, Carlus used technology to help unite the body of Christ.

During the onset of the pandemic, he pioneered the National Revival Conference featuring 16 preachers and praise leaders. More than 100 congregations simultaneously streamed the conference sermons across social media, reaching unparalleled views across our fellowship. In January 2021, New Heights also spread her reach by planting a 2nd location in the Madison-Jackson, Mississippi area.

In addition to preaching, Carlus served his country as a United States Marine for eight years and has served his community as a law enforcement official since 2010. He was promoted to Chief of Police for the city of Lumberton, MS in 2018.

In June of 2021, Carlus was awarded an honorary Doctoral degree in Christian Leadership and Management from McFormalsdale Christian University. Above all else, Carlus continues to serve the Lord and God’s people as a humble servant. His focal point for ministry is to “Preach the Whole Counsel of God That Will Rejuvenate the Old and Inspire the Young.”

Eddie & Tara Sorrell

Nationwide, approximately 40% of marriages end in divorce, a percentage that includes individuals within and outside of the church. Reflecting on this percentage, what are the tools couples need to keep their marriage healthy?  In conversation with Eddie and Tara Sorrell, we will have a frank discussion on the impact when you have – or don’t have - a purposeful relationship.

Eddie and Tara Sorrell will be featured during a panel discussion focused on purpose-filled relationships. The two grew up in the church and first met at a congregation in Hattiesburg, Miss.

They are very active with several Stonecrest ministries, and are competitive and passionate about their favorite college football and NFL teams. Tara loves the University of Tennessee and the Atlanta Falcons; whereas Eddie supports the University of Mississippi and the New Orleans Saints. The couple has been married for 13 years.
